B.Sc. Geowissenschaften

Bachelor-Studium der Geowissenschaften vermittelt die Grundkentnisse über das System Erde, die Prozesse auf der Erdoberfläche und im Erdinnern sowie die Wechselwirkungen zwischen der Litho-, Hydro-, Atmo- und Biosphäre. Die geowissenschaftliche Ausbildung findet vielfältige praktische Anwendungen bei dynamischen Prozessen auf der Erde, in der Umwelt, Sicherung und Nutzung der Energie und Rohstoffe oder bei Schätzung und Schutz vor geogenen Risiken.

Interessierte Studierende aus anderen Fächern, insbesondere Umwelt, Geographie, Chemie und anderen Naturwissenschaften oder Austauschprogrammen und Gasthörer sind willkommen und können sich bei modulverantwortlichen Dozenten anmelden.


M.Sc. Geology

Master program Geology in Freiburg offers specialized education in several fundamental and applied areas of geosciences, including mineral resources, geochemistry, tectonics, applied geophysics or Quaternary science.

Interested students from the M.Sc. Program Crystalline Materials or other programs as well as exchange students or registrees of the continuing education program are welcome.


Ph.D. Geology

We are offering Ph.D. degree in Geology with focus on petrology, geochemistry and mineral resources. International applicants are invited to peruse availability of doctoral scholarships: DAAD, Erasmus. For further information please contact prospective supervisor from our team.


Postdoctoral research and habilitation

We invite applications from prospective postdoctoral fellows and early career researchers. In addition, the university offers habilitation (professorial qualification) to internal or external applicants. Interested applicants are invited to browse through our research projects and consult availability of postdoctoral funding at the DFG, DAAD, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Marie Curie Fellowship.
